The Illusionist (France 2010). 79 mins. Dir: Sylvain Chomet. Cert PG

    Sponsor: LFS member

Jacques Tati was one of cinema's greats, responsible for classics like 'M. Hulot's Holiday', 'Mon Oncle' and 'Trafic'. 'The Illusionist ' is the perfect tribute to the man. Based on an unrealised script of Tati's, Sylvain Chomet has created a masterly film that will make audiences laugh and cry (possibly at the same time.) Animal Kingdom (Australia 2009). 113 mins. Dir: David Michod. Cert 15.

    Sponsor: J. D. Jackson - Electronics

Jacki Weaver creates one of film's great monsters with her protrayal of the matriarch at the head of a family of criminals. Part Vi Kray, part Peggy Mitchell, she is as dangerous as any of her violent sons and 17 year old grandson Josh, whom she's looking after, has to have all his wits about him as he struggles to survive. Neighbours this most certainly is not...

Starring: Ben Mendelsohn, Joel Edgerton, James Frecheville, Jacki Weaver
